Have Peace amidst Muck

Feelings are a bugger

Irritated, angry,
sad, or mad,

'long as we're in this world
We're not always gonna be
All happy and glad,

Some folks seem to be
Particularly blessed
The way they handle
What comes at 'em

....better than the rest.

Some folks like me,
Chaff a bit deeper,
redder than red,

Try as we may
Not to take anger to bed
It's an ongoing battle
Inside our hard  head
(me sometimes)

Maybe a hurt heart,
Or disappointments amuck
Make it more difficult
And emotions
run amuck

What is the answer?
Is there remedy or help?

His word is for counsel
Whatever we've felt!

Take your brokeness to Jesus
He saves and He heals
Your invited to
Share the burden
Not carry it alone

Here are some tips
To handle your feelings
When they run all around
Not wanting to listen
Wanting to frown

1. Be sure to get sunshine,
Bright light can do wonders!

2. From the Bible
Get wisdom,
It's more than warning and thunder!

3.  What are your hobbies?
Sew something of value for all,
Or be busy 'with clean fun,
Ride your bike around town,

4. Be safe and choose joy,

5. TALK to a friend!
Remember Jesus is one♡
Beyond compare

Sunshine, Sonshine,
JOY is for YOU
6. Help someone,
Find the smile that is new.

If you read around my blog, you will see that I at times struggle.  You will also see where my faith is, and where over and over, I direct my eyes.  Did you hear wisdom in the above poem?

Praise God for sunshine, and the opportunities for healthy hobbies, that can contribute to beauty or blessing in someone's life, and from God's word, be reminded how special a friend may be, and what we have in Jesus:

Proverbs 19:21
There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord that shall stand.

Proverbs 20:5
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

A wonderful human friend will help us draw wisdom or understanding from God's written word and from inside of our heart.

Jesus is the BEST friend:

John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Dear Heavenly Father,
When I am in need personally,  and I am weary from the muck of this world, help me to keep my eyes on YOU and my friend Jesus. No one loves me more.  Grow me in understanding and appreciation, and LOVE, that I may be a reflection of my savior Jesus.
In His name I pray,

Word for my Blue Days

(1.5 minute read;  actually wrote this some time ago, so friends don't worry)

Not feeling the blessings today. In truth feeling, a little bit blue. I asked what would God say, if I could hear Him speak, and like a gift from above, this is what I heard. Please don't be critical, and do go ahead and analyze, compare it to His word! I know it is not just to ME.  I am one of MANY in my wonderful, miraculous, royal Christian family.

From our Father... I believe He is this loving and it's true... from Him, to every single one of YOU that belong to Him, through faith and Christ:

You are beautiful.
You are precious.
I made you,
You are mine.

You are here for a purpose.
I'll be with you every step.
I will love you and be faithful,
Even when my Word,
You have not kept...

The pleasures and glory here,
Really do not compare.
What's coming next,
I delight to share.
HEAVEN is a place,
that is rare-er than rare.

Just you remember,
every fumbley move here.
I've got you covered.
I am always near.

Always ...LOVING
'Cause that's who I am.
I am LOVE,
The great I AM.

No worry or care,
Is too great or too small,
When you stand,
When you fall,

When you are distracted,
Discouraged and down,
Remember me child.
"I can turn bad around."

Help me Father, to keep my eyes on YOU.  May I live my life as a living sacrifice.  Thank you for preparing a place for us in Heaven.  I would not want to live this life with out YOU.  All glory and honor to my Father in Heaven.  In Christ Jesus I pray. AMEN

Friends I invite you, in the comments to share scripture that this poem brings to your mind♡  Thank you for letting me share.  May your steps be lit in Sonshine.

Mothers Treasure Today.....For It will Pass

This is a guest post.  I got permission to share these beautiful words from my sister's heart.  I present to you, my sister, Cheryl, and her reflections on this time in life as a mother:

This beautiful mess (above) is what my New Year's Resolution is all about.  Sorting materially and emotionally.   Finding these little jewels, reminding me of my little dancer that always needed hair pins and safety pins for dance costumes; reminding me of my cute little boy that had to always be playing/collecting marbles, building with Legos.   Sorting out my feelings, coming to terms that all the love and energy I had put into raising my little children has come full circle.  I wanted them to not be dependent on me.  I wanted them to make their own way.  I didn't want to micro-manage them but for them to each have confidence to make their own decisions and learn from their own mistakes.   What I failed to realize myself was how lonely I would feel when my greatest desire was fulfilled.

My daughter is the age I was when I got married 26 years ago.  I am so proud of her and frankly, myself for raising her.  When she was in college I was still in the "raising mode," and didn't have time to feel lonely;  she still needed and depended on me.  My mission is now complete and it is bitter-sweet.  I didn't know that with this great accomplishment I had been striving for the last 23 years would leave a big hole in my heart and a loneliness in my life.  I have paid the ultimate sacrifice; but isn't that what mothers do:  put children first?

She will never be that little girl that needs me again.  This year is about emotionally sorting through my feelings and putting all that behind, realizing she was never mine in the first place.  She has ALWAYS been His.  I was only lucky enough to be entrusted  to care and guide her in this life.  She may never be that little girl that needs her mother again, but I do know a daughter will always WANT her mother.  I take comfort in that.

My son is still in college and even though he thinks he doesn't need or depend on me, I know he does.  But very soon, my mission to raise him will also be complete and another hole will be forever etched into my heart.  I will once again, have to come to terms that he was never mine; but a child of the King.  I am so thankful and blessed that God chose me to be their mother.  Through HIM I will come to terms with my new normal and find joy again.  Thanks be to God! 💗

I love you sister, and beautiful niece and nephew.  May the Lord's will be done in your hearts, my heart, our family for generations, and in the world....... All our hope is in the Heavenly Father through Christ Jesus.  Truly He is GREAT and to be praised.  There were many answered prayer along the way to here...........
